About DCCE

Build the permanent record first.

DCCE is an evidence-based registry and research platform for NASCAR diecast collecting—not a marketplace, rumor board, or ungoverned image archive.

Operating principles

The rules behind the public experience.

The database, editorial workflow, and public design should all reinforce the same standards.
01

Evidence over assumption

DCCE does not turn collector repetition into fact. Claims remain open until support is attached.

02

Permanent correction history

Records are expected to improve. Revisions and corrections are part of the product, not hidden mistakes.

03

Collector-readable structure

The public site uses Registry Records, Permanent Records, and known versions instead of internal database jargon.

04

Rights-governed media

DCCE displays media only when its ownership, license, reusable terms, or official embed authority is documented.

Registry media governance

Display rights determine the presentation.

DCCE separates research value from permission to reproduce or publicly display media.
01

DCCE-owned or contributor-authorized

Display the media when ownership or an explicit contribution license is documented.

02

Documented partner license

Display manufacturer, team, retailer, or media assets only within the recorded license terms.

03

Verifiable reusable license

Display Creative Commons or similar media only when the license and attribution are preserved.

04

Official source-platform embed

Use only a provider-supplied embed through an approved DCCE integration.

05

Source-page link only

When display permission is not documented, show a text link to the original page without hosting or reproducing the image.

06

Neutral DCCE placeholder

When no cleared media or durable source link exists, display a neutral placeholder and invite a governed contribution.

Broken links enter human review. DCCE does not automatically substitute another web image.
